Control Tower helps editors and journalists prepare for upcoming news events. Editors and reporters can record events in the shared newsroom calendar keeping track of upcoming sporting events, anniversaries, play openings, press conferences, and other community events so that no major happening passes them by.
| Control Tower not only keeps track of dates, but also enables users to keep track of important information resources related to the event. For instance, a reporter can attach a press release that they have received about the event. An editorial assistant could link in source contacts, notes, and even websites. All this information is centralized on the event details page so that vital information is at hand when the coverage efforts start.
| The news calendar module is tightly integrated with the central story budgeting tool enabling editors to organize event coverage. For instance, an editor can create and schedule stories, elements, and tasks related to a single event. Multiple stories can be created for one event in order to cover it from a wide variety of angles.
| Control Tower’s news calendar supports two views - calendar form, which displays events by day, week, month and year, and list form, filterable by date.
